Physiotherapy

Michael completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, Australia, following the completion of his Bachelor of Science – Kinesiology at Dalhousie University.
Being heavily involved in sports as a player, coach, and a sports trainer, Michael always has an enthusiastic attitude to the body’s movement and repair process which led him to pursue his studies in Physiotherapy.
While working in Melbourne, New Brunswick, and Vancouver, Michael has continued his professional development with various seminars from world renowned physiotherapists. He is also certified in Clinical Pilates and Strength and Conditioning, as well as specializes in hip and knee Osteoarthritis management (GLA:D certified). He utilizes a hands-on approach, supplemented with a progressive active rehabilitation program to help aid his clients’ recovery.
He is looking forward to providing his clients with an evidence-based approach that is “client centered and practitioner driven.”
Outside physiotherapy, Michael is a sports enthusiast, in particular an avid basketball fan. He is also a coffee enthusiast and you will see him throughout the city looking for the best pour overs and espresso!

WILL RETURN IN 2025 - Stephanie completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, Australia, following completion of a Bachelor of General Studies with Kinesiology Minor at Simon Fraser University.
Involved in sports and recreation from an early age, Stephanie developed an interest in the science of human movement, leading to pursuit of studies in Physiotherapy.
While working in hospital for many years, Stephanie has had the opportunity to work in a variety of acute rehabilitation settings including, orthopedics, neurology, post-surgical, and general medicine. Combining active rehabilitation with a client-centred approach, she helps aid clients’ recovery.
Outside Physiotherapy, Stephanie enjoys spending time outdoors, trying new recreational activities, and is an avid tennis fan. She also likes trying out new places to dine around the city and is always on the lookout for new recommendations.

Dr. Chan Balagosa is a dedicated chiropractor who is passionate about promoting holistic health and wellness. Graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic - West, he developed a deep understanding of the musculoskeletal system and its impact on overall health. Dr. Balagosa integrates traditional chiropractic adjustments with modern techniques to treat conditions ranging from neck and back pain to sports injuries. During his studies, he served as an Athletic Trainer for the University of British Columbia - Okanagan men’s basketball team. He also refined his skills in sports medicine and rehabilitation under the tutelage of physiotherapist Michael Tengco, chiropractor Dr. Duriell Bernard and some of BC’s leading pain specialists at the Canadian Pain and Regenerative Institute. Believing in the body’s natural healing ability, Dr. Balagosa focuses on identifying root causes rather than just symptoms. He educates patients on spinal health and offers strategies for maintaining wellness. Active in running, soccer, and fishing he embodies a holistic approach to well-being. Committed to professional growth, he has also undergone further training in Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association which specializes in pregnancy and pediatrics. Whether it alleviating pain or enhancing wellness, Dr. Balagosa is dedicated in helping patients achieve health goals through personalized chiropractic care and integration with other health care professionals.

Ian has always enjoyed sports and the outdoors, so of course, injuries occurred. Ian found the most relief from Massage Therapy. This inspired him to become a massage therapist, and in 2019, Ian successfully completed the Registered Massage Therapy Program at Langara College.
Ian has experience treating athletes, seniors, pregnant people, and those who have been affected by motor vehicle accidents. He utilizes a wide range of techniques from myofascial release, trigger point therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM), and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) techniques to help attain optimal health and recovery. Ian is continuously learning new massage therapy techniques and treatments to better educate and treat his patients.
Outside of work, Ian loves to explore the city to find new restaurants so he can try exciting new foods! He is also an avid gamer.

Taylor (she/her) graduated from a 3000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2012. She practiced in Victoria for two years before working seasonally at a fishing lodge in Haida Gwaii, and has since spent time working in Vancouver and at a heliski lodge in Northern BC. She has treated a variety of conditions including chronic pain, postural imbalances, back tension, headaches, repetitive strain injuries, stress and anxiety, pregnancy, pain caused by muscular imbalances or joint dysfunction, MVA and sports related injuries. With an empathetic approach to treatments, Taylor has experience working with clients at all stages of recovery, and will collaborate with you to reach your goals.

Ingrid graduated from Langara College Registered Massage Therapy program in 2019 and got the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients during the program, from young athletes to patients with spinal cord injuries, from patients with acute injuries to patients suffering from chronic conditions. She found a lot of interest in not only advancing her therapeutic approach but also in listening and understanding patients’ needs and how to develop a practical treatment and homecare plan with them.
From a young age Ingrid has been very active and enjoyed doing different kinds of sport and understands how injuries could impact the ability for one to continue with their exercises. Outside of the clinic she loves spending time with her friends playing tennis and finding good food in town. She also loves traveling to different countries and learning about local cultures and languages. Ingrid is also fluent in Cantonese, Japanese, and Mandarin.
Acupuncture

Ahyoung Choi studied Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University and graduated from Central College in New Westminster to become a registered acupuncturist and TCM practitioner. Additionally, while working, she pursued her passion for learning and practicing manual osteopathy at the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto.
Ahyoung has successfully treated a wide range of issues, including musculoskeletal pain, nerve conditions, as well as internal conditions such as IBS, stomach ulcers, cardiovascular issues, and women’s health issues, among others. She is trained in special manual osteopathic techniques such as joint mobilization and muscle energy techniques. She is also skilled in acupotomy. In addition, she performs Tuina to realign the body and employs cupping therapy to address soft tissue concerns.
Her overarching goal is to share her knowledge and skills, offering not only physical healing but also emotional support throughout her patients’ healing journeys.
Born and raised in South Korea, she moved to Canada at the age of 13. Ahyoung is fluent in both English and Korean. In her free time, she enjoys working out at the gym and taking her dog for walks when she’s not working.

Karen graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts, but her struggles with health issues unaddressed by conventional therapies led her to develop a strong interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and its health maintenance techniques. This interest eventually inspired her to study and graduate from Central College in New Westminster to pursue a career as a registered acupuncturist and TCM practitioner.
Combining her knowledge of TCM and herbal medicine, Karen focuses on helping her patients maintain health through acupuncture, herbal treatments, and other therapies such as cupping, Gua Sha, and moxibustion. She is interested in anti-aging treatments and natural beauty enhancement, offering facial rejuvenation acupuncture and herbal skincare therapies to improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and promote a youthful complexion. Karen treats a wide range of health concerns, including women’s wellness, hormonal imbalances, musculoskeletal pain, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, digestive issues, allergies, and hay fever. Her treatments are tailored to restore balance, improve circulation, enhance immune function, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Meet David, a passionate Kinesiologist and personal trainer, holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). With seven years of experience, he specializes in optimizing clients’ movement mechanics and enhancing athletic performance. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, David brings a diverse skill set to connect with a wide range of individuals.

Ana X. Mtnz Lima was born and raised in Mexico. Trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba in La Havana, where she graduated as a dancer and teacher with a specialization in Classical Ballet. She continued her professional practice as a dancer at the Barcelona City Ballet in Barcelona, Spain.
Currently, Ana Ximena is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology in Vancouver. She is also a certified Pilates reformer instructor. With over five years of experience as a ballet and dance teacher, Ana also works as an indoor cycling instructor at Spinco Burnaby and as a Pilates instructor. Her passions include fitness and wellness.
